Joe played Jonathan in Short North Stage's gala production of Tick, Tick...Boom!, running Sept 9-11.
Joe stars as Charlie Price in Forestburgh Playhouse's production of the Broadway Hit Musical, Kinky Boots, running through August 28th.
Chisholm's tenor voice brings a sense of longing to songs like "Why." Chisholm conveys Jon's emotions in a way that seems so naturally, one forgets he is acting. Perhaps the most moving part of the show is on the eve of his 30th birthday, Jon receives a message on his answering machine from his idol, Stephen Sondheim. The way Chisholm's eyes water over to the verge of tears was so gut-wrenchingly real that the audience felt like they were in the room with Jon.
The duel leads of Joe Chisholm as Charlie and David Kaverman as Lola are what inject true zeal into this production. They mutually make us feel their very diverse dilemmas. They both make us laugh and they both brought the house down in their own individual numbers.
As Justin, Joe Chisholm makes a memorable entrance. He and Derek Smith's Terry catch fire on stage right away, creating a chemistry that quickly rivets your attention on every word Mr. McKeever has written.
To date, Mr. Chisholm gives the finest interpretation of a prince I’ve seen on stage.
Burrell and Chisholm(a deliciously free-wheeling Berger), in their respective blond and black tresses, divide and conquer.
Much more than just a pretty princely face, Chisholm creates an honest depth to the character; a rich and hearty eager young lad with substance to his on-stage existence. (His) voice is pristine; a clear bell ringing out across the waters.
